It turns out it was NOT an amicable split, and when she shows up at the tattoo shop that Ed Larsen owns and runs, he’s still deeply angry with her. She doesn’t remember him at all, but hopes he might be able to answer some of her questions. In an effort for information, she goes to see an ex-boyfriend. Some time has passed since then and she is trying to find out about who she used to be. Clementine, or Clem, was viciously attacked and the result was a complete loss of memory. I wouldn’t say it’s great or the best book I ever, ever read, but I enjoyed it and was glad I read it. I’ve read Kylie’s books before and enjoyed them, and this one sounded interesting. I just finished reading another book where the heroine has amnesia and loved it. I was coming off of the Archive series, which I hadn’t been able to finish. It was really important that I designed a book that could stand alone. Schwab: Vicious was my first adult novel, and we had no idea how it was going to be received. Paste: Why was there a five-year gap between Vicious’s release in 2013 and Vengeful’s release this year? I rarely use GoodReads, but because I received an advanced copy of the book, I thought it best to distribute this review across all platforms where I have an account. Focus on actions, on stuff that’s actually happening. This is unproductive and invasive speculation. This situation could been a constructive conversation about the quality of a book, privileges, the highly commercialized state of publishing, the influence of tiktok, or false advertising, and instead we’re having NONE of those. It’s tacky and uncouth and what bigots do every time there are women in a TV show. As someone who dropped one of the first comprehensive bad reviews on this book, I just wanna say I do not support the review bombing of it. |
